According to the Department of Health (DOH), the figure is equivalent to a 94.9-percent recovery rate out of a total of 1,530,266 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

The DOH also tallied 5,828 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 50,562.

The DOH also logged 17 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 26,891.

The DOH said 11 duplicates were removed from the total case count as eight of these are recoveries.

Meanwhile, 15 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
