Another quarantine facility has been established in this province in response to the rising number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases.

The facility is located at the north wing of the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) in New Clark City.

Governor Dennis Pineda, together with the municipal health officers (MHOs) in the province, personally visited on Wednesday the facility that will be rented by the provincial government from the NGAC.

“Joint project po natin ito sa national government. Dito muna pansamantalang mamalagi at gagamutin ang mga kabalen natin na may mild Covid-19 (This is our joint project with the national government. Our kabalen (provincemates) who have mild Covid-19 will temporarily stay and be treated here,” Pineda said in his social media account.

The facility has a 311-bed capacity with air-conditioning system. Internet connection will likewise be installed.

Aside from the quarantine facility at the NGAC, the governor said Building B of the Athletes’ Village is also being used as isolation center.

He also said the permanent evacuation center in Mexico town is being readied in case there is a need for more patient care centers.

Meanwhile, Pineda said public schools in the province will be used as isolation facility for those who are close contacts of positive Covid-19 patients.

Nakikiusap po ako sa inyo mag-ingat pa lalo tayo sa Covid-19 para makapagligtas tayo ng buhay at makabangon na ang ating ekonomiya (I am appealing to you to be more careful with Covid-19 so that we can save lives and rebuild our economy). Let us learn to live with this problem, the governor told the MHOs.

As of August 25, there are 47 new confirmed Covid-19 cases reported in the province, bringing the total number to 779.

On the other hand, the total number of recoveries is 250 while the death tally is 27. (PNA)
