4. Barobo, Surigao del Sur

Also located in Surigao del Sur, Barobo deserves its own place in this list of hidden gems in the Philippines. Barobo offers cold springs with clear blue green waters similar to that of Enchanted River in Hinatuan but without the usual crowd. Also in Barobo is Cabgan Island. Even though it’s located in the same Lianga Bay, Cabgan Island offers a different perspective from those of Britania Islands. If the latter provides tranquil scenic views, Cabgan Island has its wild side called West Life. It’s a cliff that faces the Pacific Ocean and hence, the waves are big and wild. If you still prefer a relaxing beach, worry not because there is an untouched stretch of white sand beach with crystal clear waters on the other side.

Because of the lack of commercial establishments, Barobo still remains excluded in most Surigao trip itineraries. So next time you go, include it in your list.
