9. Port Barton, San Vicente, Palawan

Port Barton is a small fishing village in San Vicente, Palawan. It’s an hour away from the town proper where a new airport was built last 2017. But due to limited available flights, most tourists come from either Puerto Princesa or El Nido where it’s four and five hours away respectively. Although there is much improvement, going in and out of Port Barton will still require you to pass bumpy and unpaved roads across forests. If you’d like to experience top loading a jeepney, the way to/from Port Barton is a great one. It’s shady because of the trees and if you’re lucky enough, you may see monkeys and rare birds. The whole experience is worth it because what awaits you are unspoiled, non-commercialized islands. White beaches and turquoise waters similar to those of neighboring El Nido are present, while the usual tourist crowd is not.

Port Barton has only a limited power supply from 5 PM to 1 AM, unless your accommodation has access to a solar panel. But still, that shouldn’t deter you. There are several islands to explore, each with its unique character. They offer distinct panoramic and scenic views so you’ll never get bored.
