2. Maria Makiling
One of the most famous mythological characters in the Philippines, Dayang Makiling is known to be a fairy who guards Mount Makiling. One of the most famous stories around her is that she bewitches men lost in the forest and takes them to her house to spend time with her forever.
Oh, and if you really got lost in Mount Makiling, just remember to turn your shirt inside out to find the way, otherwise you’ll be meeting the forest goddess if you don’t.
P.S. Dayang is a noble title used before the Hispanic era in the Philippines.
In Philippine Folklore, Dayang Makiling (hispanized as Maria Makiling) was a breathtakingly beautiful spirit, with radiant brown skin and twinkling eyes. some say she lives on an enchanted mountain named after her, while others say she IS the mountain. Her name means "crooked". pic.twitter.com/nj9i8fqDQJ
