The Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday canceled its flights between Manila and Doha, while the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said Qatar Airways has not issued any advisory on flight cancelations for the same routes.

MIAA’s record showed Qatar Airways has six flights scheduled between Manila and Doha: QR 934/935, QR 932/933, and QR 928/929. Flight QR 935 departed from Manila at around 9:25 a.m.

The State of Qatar has imposed a temporary entry ban on travelers from 14 countries, including the Philippines, to help contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Passengers from the Philippines, Bangladesh, China, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, South Korea, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Thailand are barred to enter Doha beginning March 9.

The Philippines now has a total of 10 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Earlier, Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, in a circular, said all flights coming from the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt are temporarily suspended for one week starting March 6. (PNA)
