During times like these, it seems that people are losing their faith in humanity. Thankfully, Uploader Earl Calixtro reminds of the kindness each person has. On July 29, Calixtro shared that he was eating his lunch in fast food chain in Pampanga when an old man walked in. The old man, whom he referred to as “Tatay”, was seated in a table close by when his order of a cup of rice and water came.

Calixtro asked Tatay if he would like anything else to eat. “Oo daw kasi nagugutom sya pero kulang pera nya,” he stated.

The netizen then left his place to order food for Tatay but when he came back, the stranger already had a meal that was provided by the service crew.

“Pagbalik ko sa table nya may chicken fillet na. Binigay nung crew,” he said.

After seeing the kindness of the crew, Calixtro made his order for Tatay take home so that he has food for later. He talked to Tatay for a bit but expressed a bit of difficulty in doing so. “Kinausap ko sya sandali pero hindi ko sya maintindihan masyado kasi sobrang nanginginig sya. Siguro sa sobrang gutom. Plus hirap na din sya magsalita,” he admitted.

Calixtro later learned that Tatay is from Tacloban and travelled to Pampanga to look for a job.

He ended his post with kind and encouraging words for his fellow netizens. “Kahit ano man pong pagsubok ang pinag dadaanan nating lahat ngayon. Nakaka angat ka man sa buhay or simpleng mamamayan ka lang. Gawin mong tumulong sa kapwa mo lalo na dun sa mga nangangailangan talaga,” he wrote. “Promise ang sarap sa pakiramdaman. Ingat tayong lahat. Matatapos din tong pandemic na to,” Calixtro assured.

Earl Calixtro and the service crew reminds us that we can and should help each other through these difficult times. Just as the netizen shared, the pandemic will end, let us help each other especially those who need help.
