In the wake of recent typhoons Quinta, Rolly and Ulysses in the Philippines, Republic Cement immediately initiated relief operations in several regions that were severely affected by heavy rains, winds, and flooding.

In partnership with local government units and concerned Republic Cement dealers located in the areas, Republic Cement distributed over 6,200 relief packs worth P2.2 million. These packs contained rice, clean drinking water, noodles, canned goods, coffee and cereal drinks. Donations were turned over to different cities and municipalities in need of assistance in Bicol, Cagayan, Isabela, Rizal and Norzagaray, Bulacan.

“As a long-standing member of these communities and as a responsible corporate citizen, it is our duty to rise to the occasion when our communities need support,” said Republic Cement chief executive Nabil Francis. “We are serious about our pledge towards nation-building and this is no different in times of crisis. We will continue to provide aid to our communities in need while advocating for a safer and stronger Republic.”

Republic Cement also opened a call for donation among its employees for a second wave of relief efforts, with the company committing to match the total donation amount.
