Kyxz Mendiola, a Filipino flying vehicle developer, sets a new world record for the longest hoverboard flight on July 10, 2021, at Subic Bay, Zambales.

“We did it PH. World’s Longest Flight on Electric Flying Hoverboard,” Mendiola said in an Instagram post after sharing a video of him flying using his hoverboard.

Star 8 Green Technology Corporation created the hoverboard, which was battery-powered. The flight took seven minutes and 22 seconds to complete.

The hoverboard, which was constructed in the Philippines, flew for over 2.8 kilometers at a height of 30 feet, shattering the previous record of 2.2 kilometers established by French jet ski champion Franky Zapata on April 30, 2016, in Sausset-les-Pins, France.

Mendiola stated in a YouTube upload that their objective is simply to go 2.5 or 2.6 kilometers, but that as long as his hoverboard has juice, he will keep flying to set a new record.

They received 2.8 kilometers based on their flight data, which was more than they expected, allowing them to beat Zapata’s world record.

Mendiola teamed up with Star 8 in 2019 to enhance his flying e-car idea.

As of writing, Mendiola and Star 8 are still working on improving the Electric Manned Aerial Vehicle (EMAV), the Philippines’ first-ever flying e-car.
