The provincial government here distributed on Monday nearly 27,000 tablets to junior high school students in public schools as part of its continuing effort to help enhance the quality of education.

Governor Albert Garcia, together with Vice Governor Cris Garcia and Schools Division Office (SDO) assistant superintendent Roland Fronda, led the turnover of 26,996 tablets to students at the Bunker, the seat of the provincial government.

The governor said the tablets were earmarked for Grades 9 and 10 students and those under the Alternative Learning System in Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac and Morong.

Balanga City has a separate school division.

“This educational support program of Bataan will further upgrade and improve the quality of education in the province despite the pandemic,” the governor said during the event.

Fronda thanked the provincial government for its continuing support in the education sector.

The new tablets were in addition to 12,684 similar gadgets handed out last year to senior high schools in the province. (PNA)
