The occupancy rate for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients in Manila’s six district hospitals is down to 1 percent as of Tuesday.

At the Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital, only 11 beds, or 3 percent of the total 344, are in use.

Data issued by the Manila Public Information Office showed that of the city’s 353 Covid-19 hospital beds, just five beds are currently occupied — one each at Ospital ng Sampaloc and Ospital ng Maynila and three at Sta. Ana Hospital.

Ospital ng Tondo; Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center in Tondo; and Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Binondo have no Covid-19 admissions.

Of the 11 patients at the Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital, three are non-Manila residents who are overseas workers while the other eight are city residents.

All patients are considered mild cases.

The Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital will operate until December and will take in patients until then, according to City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan.

As of noontime Tuesday, the city has 20 active Covid-19 cases after reporting three new infections.

Tondo 1 has five; Sampaloc, four; Paco and Pandacan, two each; and Ermita, Malate, Port Area, San Andres, San Nicolas, Sta. Mesa and Sta. Ana has one each.

Also on Tuesday, the 24/7 drive-thru vaccination site at the Quirino Grandstand has ceased operations

A total of 87,844 received Covid-19 booster shots at the site which opened on January 13.

Overall, Manila has 1.7 million fully vaccinated individuals aged 12 and above, exceeding its 1.3 million target. (PNA)
