Manila-run Sta. Ana Hospital ranked first among public hospitals in Metro Manila for its coronavirus disease (Covid-19) response and management.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said the city-owned hospital received a 97 percent rating from the Metro Manila Center for Health Development-Health Facility Development and Enhancement Unit (HFDEU) of the Department of Health (DOH).

“Congratulations sa Sta. Ana Hospital sa pagtanggap ng highest ranking mula sa lahat ng LGU hospitals at national government hospitals sa Metro Manila. Maraming salamat po sa Department of Health dahil sa assessment na binigay ninyo sa aming ospital. Makakaasa po kayo na pagbubutihin pa po ng Manila LGU para magbigay ng quality service para sa ating mga Manilenyo (Congratulations to Sta. Ana Hospital for receiving the highest ranking among all local government units (LGU) and national government hospitals in Metro Manila. Thank you very much to the Department of Health for the assessment given to our hospital. Rest assured that the Manila LGU will continue to improve and provide quality service for our Manilenyos),” Lacuna-Pangan said.

This rating is the highest among hospitals under the LGUs and DOH.

Sta. Ana Hospital director Dr. Grace Padilla thanked the hospital staff members for their dedication and hard work.

“Sta. Ana Hospital will continue to provide quality service for Manileños while continuing to adhere to the highest standards set by the national agency,” Padilla said.

She said Sta. Ana Hospital received a perfect score of 20 in governance, 15 in quality measurement and improvement, and 10 in facility safety and emergency room management.

It also got a score of 19 out of 20 for ethics rights and patient rights, 19 out of 20 for patient safety, and 14 out of 15 for resource management.

The audit and evaluation are mandated by DOH Memorandum No. 2020-0202 which provides guidelines and adherence to the infection prevention and control standards and protocols in the Covid-19 pandemic response. (PNA)
