Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. on Saturday said that 227,604 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the PNP has already received their Service Recognition Incentives (SRI) as of Jan. 4.

In a statement, Azurin said that based on the report received from the PNP Finance Service, all qualified PNP personnel received a uniform rate of PHP7,000 as per the available released agency fund for Personnel Services and Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the PNP.

The release of one-time SRI to government workers through the order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. under Executive Order No. 1 is in recognition of the collective and invaluable contribution to the government’s continuing efforts to ensure the responsive delivery of services, especially in the midst of the continuing public health emergency due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic and other socio-economic challenges.

“On behalf of the men and women of the PNP we express our gratitude to the President for granting SRI to our PNP personnel and other government employees in the country. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa patuloy na pagtitiwala sa ating kapulisan at sa pagkilala sa ating serbisyo para sa kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino (We are grateful for the continued trust in our police force and for the recognition of our service for the safety of every Filipino citizen),” said Azurin.

Meanwhile, those who have rendered less than a total or an aggregate of four months of satisfactory service as of Nov. 30, 2022, received a pro-rated share of SRI: 40 percent (three months to less than four months), 30 percent (two months to less than three months, 20 percent (one month to less than two months 20%) and 10 percent (less than one month).

The SRI amount received was subjected to a 25-percent to 30-percent tax under the TRAIN Law.

In national government departments, including state universities and schools, and government-owned or managed companies, the SRI will be granted to all civilian employees. The SRI will also be issued by both military and uniformed personnel.

The grant of the one-time SRI shall be decided by their respective Sanggunians for employees in local government units, based on the financial power of the LGU.

Similarly, their Boards of Directors can decide on the grant of SRI to workers in Local Water Districts. The same refers to workers of organizations excluded from coverage under RA No. 6758, as amended, where the award of SRI to employees is decided by their boards of directors or by the heads of the department.
