At least 550 local officials from the 50 villages of Camalig town in Albay province received on Friday cash incentives funded by the socio-civic program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Tim Florece, spokesperson of the Camalig local government unit, said barangay chairpersons, councilmen (kagawad), barangay secretaries, treasurers, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) leaders received PHP3,000 each for a total of PHP1.6 million.

“Barangay officials in Camalig, Albay received cash incentives from the Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration (under the) Office of the President. The distribution of the incentives was facilitated by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office,” Florece said in an interview.

He noted that in January, Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin G. Baldo Jr. signified his intent to avail of the program giving incentives to village officials.

“The distribution of cash incentives is also in consonance with the mandates under the 12-point executive agenda of Mayor Baldo, which seek to recognize and reward barangay officials for being at the forefront of delivering public service at the grassroots level,” Florece said. (PNA)
