President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday expressed elation over the results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey which showed an 11-point increase in his administration’s net satisfaction score.

In a statement, Marcos said the SWS poll results serve as a motivation for the government to work harder and deliver “genuine and effective” service to the public.

“Indeed, positive ratings always encourage us, but we remain focused on improving the key metrics that fulfill our promises to the people,” Marcos said.

“We take the high road in our efforts, not merely to seek popularity, but to render genuine and effective service that improves our people’s lives, strengthens our nation and secures our future,” he added.

According to the SWS survey conducted June 23 to July 1, the net satisfaction rating of the Marcos administration improved to a “good” +40 in June from “moderate” +29 in March.

Around 62 percent of adult Filipinos expressed satisfaction while only 22 percent were dissatisfied.

Fifteen percent were neutral with the Marcos administration’s general performance.

Marcos said the survey results likewise validate the government’s hard work and serve as a challenge “to do even better.”

“More than the results of any opinion poll, this is the true reward and reaffirmation we seek,” he said.

Based on the survey, the Marcos administration was rated “very good” on helping disaster victims (+64), improving children’s education (+62), and helping the poor (+51).

The government also received “good” ratings on implementing housing programs for the poor (+47), developing science and technology (+46), creating policies that will generate job opportunities (+45), ensuring an efficient public transportation system (+38), and ensuring food security (+35).

It also earned a “moderate” remark on preparing for problems being caused by climate change (+29), defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+22), and ensuring that no family will ever be hungry and have nothing to eat (+18). (PNA)
