PAGEONE Group has taken a significant step in supporting the empowerment of Filipino girls by partnering with World vision for its revolutionary campaign #GirlsCan. The Group signs up as media and PR partner by committing its very popular media titles as advocacy platforms for the campaign. The #GirlsCan campaign addresses the unique challenges faced by girls in the Philippines, from poverty and discrimination to violence and exploitation.

And because of its belief in the noble goals of the campaign, the Group also announces a PHP100,000 donation to #GirlsCan campaign that stands to benefit hundreds of Filipino children.

In a country where one in six girls is married before 18 and teenage pregnancies are on the rise, World Vision’s initiative is a silver lining because it offers crucial support through education, healthcare, and essential resources, helping girls break free from barriers and realize their potential. World Vision provides girls and their families with sustainable solutions that foster resilience and opportunities. This year’s campaign seeks to empower 1,000 more girls, particularly in light of the ongoing struggles many face in accessing education and protection from abuse.

Dr. Ron Jabal, APR and CEO of PAGEONE Group, emphasized the importance of education as a powerful equalizer: “PAGEONE Group is a firm believer in the boundless potential of girls and the transformative power of education.” he stressed.

He highlighted the realities faced by Filipino girls, such as child labor, teenage pregnancies, and sexual abuse, all of which rob them of their futures. He, however, expressed optimism in the power of education to help girls rise above these challenges and rewrite their stories. “Education is the key to unlocking a future where every girl can realize her potential. It can break the chains of poverty, protect girls from exploitation, and empower them to rewrite their stories. An educated girl is more likely to stand up for her rights, earn a higher income, and uplift her community,” he said

PAGEONE Group called on everyone to take part in this #GirlsCan advocacy as this campaign will ensure that girls have access to quality education, free from violence, discrimination, and exploitation.

“We must advocate for policies that keep girls in school, provide support for young mothers to continue their education, and create safe spaces for girls to learn and grow. When we educate girls, we not only transform their lives but also create a ripple effect that benefits families, communities, and nations. Let us commit to standing with every girl, to believing in their dreams, and to working tirelessly to remove the barriers that stand in their way. Because when girls can, girls will and the world wins” Dr. Jabal said.
