President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. revealed that his administration has begun conducting a performance review of Cabinet members, signaling potential changes ahead based on the results of the evaluation.

In the premiere episode of his “BBM Podcast” aired Monday, Marcos said the review is part of a continuing effort to assess government performance and root out inefficiency and corruption, particularly as his administration enters its second half.

“Maganda naman ang takbo pero performance review (The government is running well, but we’re doing a performance review),” Marcos said.

“All of these things … titingnan namin, bakit mabagal, ang baba ng serbisyo. Anong gagawin natin para pabilisin? ‘Yun ang importante (We’ll examine why delivery of service is slow. What should we do to make it faster? That’s what’s important).”

Asked whether there are Cabinet officials at risk of being removed, Marcos said the ongoing review could lead to firings or legal action, depending on the findings.

“Baka mangyari ‘yan. Dito nga sa ginagawa naming performance review. Iyon ang warning ko sa kanila (That might happen. It’s part of this performance review we’re conducting. That’s my warning to them),” he said.

The President also defended his approach to dealing with erring officials, saying that several have already been removed without fanfare.

“Sa nakaraang dalawang taon, three years, basta’t may report kami na validated, tanggal ‘yan. Hindi na namin ina-announce pero tanggal ‘yan. Kadalasan (In the past two to three years, as long as we have a validated report, they’re removed. We don’t announce it, but they’re removed. That’s the usual process),” he said. (PNA)
