An officer of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Antique reminded the 27,765 household members to comply with the conditions that go with the cash grant to avoid deductions or get delisted.

“There are already at least five families or households in Antique that were removed from the program because of their persistent non-compliance,” said 4Ps Antique compliance verification officer Mae Antoinette Oblima in an interview on Tuesday.

Members need to comply with conditions, including attendance in the monthly family development sessions (FDS), enrollment in schools for school-age children, and health checks to avail of the educational and health grants.

On health, children zero to five years old need to avail of check-ups and the immunization program, while those two to five years old shall receive deworming twice every school year.

It is also a requirement for pregnant mothers to avail of pre and post-natal care. Attendance to FDS is also a condition under the health grant.

“The health cash grant is PHP750, but it would be deducted if there is a failure of the household to comply,” Oblima said.

For educational grant, school-age children must be in school at least 85 percent of class days every month.

Five or more absences without a valid reason will result in deductions from their educational grant consisting of PHP300 per month for daycare to elementary grades, PHP500 for junior high school, and PHP700 for senior high school.

Oblima said that per their available record, non-compliant children rose to 2,012 as of January 2024 from 1,906 as of December 2023.

“Many children, though, still strive to be compliant because they want to finish schooling and get out of poverty,” she said.

For the school year 2023 to 2024, the program monitored around 51,000 children of household beneficiaries enrolled in different schools in Antique.

Further, the program has credited to their cash cards, starting May 30, the PHP119.4 million fund representing their grants for the February and March period. (PNA)
