Boracay Island, famous for its immaculately serene white beaches, breathtaking views, thrilling water activities, and great nightlife experiences, welcomes tourists once more with the release of Executive Order 001-A Series of 2022, AkQuiRe OHDzc QR Code Issuance for Tourists Visiting Boracay Island beginning February 1, 2022.

Boracay now welcomes tourists of all ages from the GCQ and MGCQ regions. Boracay is now open to domestic and international visitors and tourists for leisure and non-essential travel as long as they submit the required paperwork and follow the protocols.

Aside from practicing social distancing, wearing face masks, bringing hand sanitizers, and downloading the Traze Contact Tracing mobile application, here are the steps you need to accomplish before and during your vacation in Boracay.

1. Make sure to complete the requirements needed

For fully vaccinated tourists, you need to issue a Covid-19 vaccination card, a VaxCertPH certificate issued by the LGU at vaxcert.doh.gov.ph, or an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) from the World Health Organization (WHO). Remember that you can issue any of the three requirements mentioned above.

For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists, they must have a negative RT-PCR (NPS/OPS or saliva) test result from any DOH-accredited laboratory within 72 hours. Other demands for foreigners/OFWs/OFs include proof of identity with Philippine residency or a passport. Children 12 years old and below should have a Certificate of Undertaking. Since the roll out of vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 begins, parents can assist their children now by going to vaccination sites in their area.

Tourists can also take advantage of the Tourism Promotion Board’s (TPB) free swab test in PCMC, or book an RT-PCR or antigen test at a lower cost through Klook. Please remember to select RT-PCR rather than Rapid Antigen.

2. Get your Online Health Declaration Card (OHDC)

Once you have settled on the requirements needed, your next step is to get your OHDC. Visit www.touristboracay.com and click on Boracay on the homepage. After that, fill out all the necessary details about yourself and, once done, click submit. After submission, look at the bottom part of the OHDC page and you will see a section where you can upload the required documents. Once uploaded, enter the captcha code and submit.

On the following page, you will see the OHDC QR Code. Download it so that you can keep a copy of your QR Code. You can take a screenshot or print it. It’s best to print your QR code and wear it as your ID so you don’t have to dig around in your pocket or bag for your printed copy. Visitors and tourists must carry the OHDC QR Code with them at all times, particularly when entering and exiting the Boracay points of interest. If a tourist is unable to save or download the OHDC for any reason, they must reapply.

3. Book a hotel/resort booking

Make sure you book a hotel or resort in Boracay with a certificate of authority to operate from the Department of Tourism (DOT). Save your transportation details, government-issued valid ID, online health declaration card, and Tourist QR code. You also need an S-pass and the StaySafe app. You may go to https://s-pass.

4. Be sure to have all the requirements you need

Validators will check your requirements, so you must always check for their updates. Even if your code is generated automatically, they still have strict measures to apply, such as manually validating your code, so, if you are asked to send other requirements in case you missed something, send an email at [email protected].

5. Be ready on your flight

On the day of the flight, make sure to prepare all the requirements needed: Tourist QR Code, S-pass account, and StaySafe app.

6. Reminders on your arrival

Always be ready with your QR Code, boarding pass, and any valid ID. Remember that you can only explore the beauty of Boracay if you have the QR Code with you at all times.

7. What to expect

Given the current situation, the guidelines and requirements often change, so always be updated on the guidelines in Boracay. Furthermore, once you fulfill all the necessary requirements, you can enjoy the wonders of Boracay with your family and friends.

Other reminders:

The island’s curfew begins at 1:00 a.m. and lasts until 4:00 a.m.

If you intend to extend your stay on Boracay Island, you can send an email to [email protected] along with a new booking slip and wait for a response within the day. Failure to inform the validator may cause you to be delayed in gaining access to services on Boracay Island and exiting the ports. Book your Boracay accommodation through a reputable establishment.

Note that this guideline may change at any time. You can visit https://aklan.gov.ph/ for possible updates.
