Caraga Region has already recorded a total of 411 recoveries since the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic began in March, the Department of Health-Region 13 said in a case bulletin Monday night.
DOH-13 also reported that as of Monday, 10 new infections were recorded, bringing the region’s total cases to 670, 241 of which are active, with 18 recorded deaths.
Of the 10 new Covid-19 cases, six are considered local transmissions, one case with contacts to a confirmed local transmission, two are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), and a healthcare worker, the agency said.
All of the new confirmed cases are considered asymptomatic, two are females and eight are males, it said, adding that seven of the new cases are from Butuan City, one from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, and one each from Hinatuan and Lingig towns in Surigao del Sur.
The agency also reported two newly-recorded deaths in the region: a 55-year-old male from Butuan who expired on September 6 and a 63-year-old male from Butuan who died on Sept. 7.
DOH-13 also noted that local transmission cases continue to increase in the region as of Sept. 7, comprising of around 42 percent of all the cases.
Local transmission in the city also continued to rise, number 219 or 65 percent of all the 336 recorded cases, as of Sept. 7. This city has 129 recoveries, 192 active cases, and 15 recorded deaths in the same period. (PNA)
