The city government of Cebu has started releasing the salaries of its Covid-19 contact tracers covering August, September, and October.
Charoma Jessica Amatos, officer-in-charge for administration of the contact tracers, announced that a total of 66 contact tracers from two batches of north and south clusters have received their salaries earlier this week.
Another two clusters are yet to receive their salaries.
“The delay of the release of the salaries was because of the documentary requirements needed such as their daily time records (DTR) and accomplishment reports,” Amatos said in a statement released by the Public Information Office on Saturday.
She also reminded all contact tracers to properly comply with all the requirements so that their salaries will be released on time.
“In case of doubt, ask the proper admin officer and payroll maker for the correct guidance,” Amatos added.
Cebu City’s Emergency Operations Center, the central hub of the city’s Covid-19 response, has a total of 181 contact tracers.
They are deployed to the 80 barangays to help in tracing persons suspected of contracting Covid-19.
Cebu City had a total of 204 contact tracers from July to August, but the number has since dropped because many of them transferred to the Department of the Interior and Local Government team and the dwindling number of new Covid-19 cases here. (PNA)
