In an effort to boost the medical treatment capacity of the National Capital Region (NCR) as well as its adjoining cities and provinces, the Eva Macapagal Super Terminal has been converted into a COVID-19 treatment facility, which has been swiftly COMPLETED after undergoing 24/7 construction works.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the steadfast leadership of Secretary Arthur Tugade, and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) headed by General Manager Jay Santiago, expedited the construction of the facility, together with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and in cooperation with the Lopez Group of Companies which donated PhP100 million funding support, 2GO and Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI).

The treatment facility has a total of 211 cubicles distributed in different zones, to accommodate patients with mild, advanced and severe COVID-19 infections.

Starting today, 21 April 2020, the treatment facility is all set and ready.

Here’s a glimpse of the facility’s features designed and formed based on the medical requirement for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
