The “Balik Eskwela Diskwento” promo on June 9-21 will be a venue for parents and children to avail of school supplies at discounted prices, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Antique.

“There will be six DTI partner stores providing discounts to those who would be buying school supplies, uniforms, and bags for the school opening,” DTI Antique Provincial Director Mary Jade Gonzales said in an interview Wednesday.

They include Gian’s Enterprises, B.E.Y. Enterprise, City Square Realty and Dev. Co., Fabulous Jeans and Shirts and General Merchandise, Inc., Unitop General Merchandise Inc., and TJK Merchandising.

The discounts offered by the DTI partner stores in San Jose de Buenavista vary from five to 20 percent for school supplies, uniforms, and bags. There are also premiums or attached items when buying bundled items as part of the marketing strategy in stores.

Gonzales said DTI personnel had been monitoring the prices and determining whether there are enough supplies in stores before the launch of Balik Eskwela Diskwento.

The monitoring is done weekly in San Jose de Buenavista and monthly in the other 17 towns of the province. (PNA)
