More agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the southern part of Negros Occidental received land titles and were installed in various landholdings as part of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

The distribution of certificate of land ownership awards (CLOAs) and the installation rites were facilitated by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Negros Occidental II.

In a report on Wednesday, the DAR said 50 farmer-beneficiaries were given land titles to properties totaling 43.06 hectares in three villages in Bago City in rites on Tuesday.

Some 37 ARBs received CLOAs for 29.44 hectares in Barangay Tabunan; seven for 5.17 hectares in Barangay Pacol; and six for the remaining 8.44 hectares in Barangay Taloc.

Senior Agrarian Reform Program Technologist Jeremiah Barrientos said the distribution of land titles is one of the highlights of Land Tenure Security Program, which is the lifeblood of the CARP.

“Help the agency uphold your rights as tillers to own, control, secure, cultivate and enhance your agricultural lands and improve your quality of life,” Barrientos told the ARBs.

Also on Tuesday, 34 farmer-beneficiaries were installed on 14 hectares of landholdings in Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan.

The five hectares, formerly owned by Glenn Vincent Leonardia, were divided among 14 ARBs while the other five hectares, which used to belong to Cecilia Clotilde Leonardia were shared by 11 ARBs.

The four hectares left, which was under the name of Joebert Leonardia, were also divided among nine ARBs.

In Candoni town, 18 farmer-beneficiaries received CLOAs for 36.13 hectares of aggregate landholdings located in various barangays on December 11.

A total of 11 ARBs received titles to 22 hectares formerly owned by Dionisio Hapinit and others in Barangay Haba.

Three others shared the 8.31 hectares in Barangay Cabia-an; two were awarded 2.5549 hectares in Barangay Caningay; one ARB received 0.881 hectare in Barangay East; and another one got 1.39 hectares in Barangay Agboy.

On the same day, some 14 farmer-beneficiaries were installed on 14.67 hectares of landholdings formerly owned by Silverio Mogar in Barangay Banogbanog, Isabela town.

In neighboring Hinigaran town, 23 ARBs were installed by the agency on 17.02 hectares of the agricultural land formerly owned by Juan Ysassi in Barangay Palayog on December 10.

On December 9, some 44 farmer-beneficiaries were also installed on a 14-hectare property used to be owned by Ramon Silverio in Barangay Pilar. (PNA)
