The Metro Pacific-led NLEX Corporation recently launched its digital art competition as it seeks to strengthen NLEX-SCTEX’s position as the gateway to cultural discoveries and experiences in the North.

Running until August 15, 2021, this contest intends to showcase everything the North has to offer— rich and colorful traditions, meaningful connections, and memorable experiences.

The competition is open to Filipino citizens aged 18 years old and above who can express their thoughts and innovative ideas through a digital artwork that will reflect the theme: NLEX-SCTEX: Gateway to the Unique People and Culture of the North.

This is being done online, from the submission of entries to the announcement of winners. Twelve best digital artworks will be chosen as winners and will be featured in the 2022 NLEX Calendar. Each winner will win PhP 25,000.

Over the years, NLEX has produced corporate calendars to highlight its role in the development of the North and Central Luzon, and in the promotion of cultures and traditions of the North. Previously, the company used paintings and photographs by Filipino artists as the medium and now gears towards digitization thus the use of digital art in its 2022 calendar.

“Through this contest, we want to feature Filipino talents and encourage these artists to showcase how NLEX and traveling to the North enable them to discover and experience the unique northern culture,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J.Luigi L. Bautista.
