The Northern Samar provincial government has forged a partnership with Island Living Channel (ILC) to promote the province to both tourists and investors.

Northern Samar provincial tourism officer Josette Doctor said in a phone interview Monday that Governor Edwin Ongchuan and ILC chairman and chief executive officer Radjie Caram Jr. agreed to highlight the strength of the province through ILC’s programming.

“This will not only increase tourism but also present new avenues for sustainable development, showcasing Northern Samar as a desirable destination for investment, particularly in the tourism, agriculture, and real estate sectors,” Doctor told the Philippine News Agency.

Ongchuan expressed optimism about the proposed partnership, highlighting its significance as a strategic step towards realizing the province’s full potential.

“This collaboration with ILC represents a transformative opportunity for Northern Samar. It aligns with our vision to promote our province as a premier destination for both vacationers and investors alike. By showcasing our rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural beauty, and the warm hospitality of our people, we aim to attract a global audience, fostering economic development and cultural exchange,” he said.

Among the popular destinations in Northern Samar are Biri Rock Formations, Capul Island, Pink Beach, Busay Falls, Lalaguna Mangrove Eco-Park, Pinipisakan Falls, and several centuries-old churches built during the Spanish era.

Northern Samar comprises the towns of Allen, Biri, Bobon, Capul, Catarman, Catubig, Gamay, Laoang, Lapinig, Las Navas, Lavezares, Lope de Vega, Mapanas, Mondragon, Palapag, Pambujan, Rosario, San Antonio, San Isidro, Silvino Lubos, San Jose, San Roque, San Vicente, and Victoria. (PNA)
