Malacañang on Tuesday assured the public of fair and impartial implementation of the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), saying all local government units (LGUs) are entitled to benefit from the program regardless of political affiliation.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has made it clear that LGSF is intended to serve all communities nationwide.

“Nadinig po natin ang naisin ng Pangulo patungkol dito sa LGSF (We have heard the President’s directive regarding the LGSF),” Castro said in a Palace press briefing.

“Ang LGSF ay pangkalahatan. Walang pinipiling kulay po ito, walang pinipiling bayan, walang pinipiling lugar (The LGSF is for everyone. It does not favor any political color, municipality, or locality),” she added.

Castro noted that Naga City Mayor Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, who belongs to a different political party, had even acknowledged that assistance under the LGSF is being distributed without regard to political color.

The Palace official said all villages and LGUs covered by the program are entitled to receive assistance. She encouraged residents to coordinate with their local officials regarding the distribution of government assistance, including rice allocated under the LGSF.

“At hindi po dapat na lamangan mismo ng mga namumuno ang kanilang mga constituents (Local officials should never take advantage of their own constituents),” Castro said, noting that the government is aware of the complaints about rice distributions that were short of the declared weight.

Castro said local officials should ensure that government assistance reaches beneficiaries in full and without exploitation.

She urged the public to report irregularities and reminded them not to pay anyone in exchange for receiving government aid.

“Kapag kayo po ay sinabihan na kailangan magbayad kayo para makatanggap ng ayuda mula sa pamahalaan, wala pong bayad ni singko (If you are told that you have to pay to receive government assistance, do not believe it. Government aid is completely free),” Castro said.

“Muli, kapag kayo po ay duda at mayroon kayong nararamdaman na panloloko, ipagbigay alam niyo lang po sa amin ito para ito ay matugunan namin ng mabilisan (Again, if you suspect any wrongdoing or feel you are being deceived, report it to us immediately so we can act on it promptly),” she added.

During the expanded government aid rollout in Tarlac City on July 30, Marcos said around 1,276 LGUs have received assistance under the LGSF since the launch of the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang initiative in February 2026. (PNA)
