The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has provided PHP14.56-billion in medical assistance to more than 1.36 million patients since 2022.

The PCSO also donated PHP125 million in medical equipment to local government units (LGUs) and other beneficiaries, and handed out PHP74.88 million to institutional partners, according to a news release on Friday.

The agency likewise distributed 233,250 “charitimba” (charity pail) containing food packs and more than 10,000 assistive devices to victims of natural calamities nationwide.

During the past three years, the PCSO remitted PHP18.7 billion to government agencies and allocated PHP4.2 billion to charity funds, supporting public health and social services.

The PCSO marked its 91st anniversary on Oct. 30, coinciding with the National Day of Charity, and reaffirmed its mission of serving Filipinos through impactful, charitable and service-driven programs.

“For 91 years, PCSO has remained strong because of our people — their dedication, integrity and heart for service. Together, we will continue to be the strength behind a more compassionate future,” PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said.

With the theme “A Legacy of Service: The Strength Behind the Future,” the PCSO renewed its commitment to health equity and social welfare.

PCSO revenues reached PHP61.4 billion in 2023 and PHP62.3 billion in 2024, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and enabling broader nationwide support.

Among its key program milestones is the distribution of a record-setting 1,540 patient transport vehicles or ambulances to LGUs.

It distributed a single-day record of 387 units on July 9.

Robles said they will continue to work hard to meet their target of distributing 1,724 ambulance units this year. (PNA)
