The country’s first-ever interactive water show gave a spectacular Christmas Season preview on Tuesday night, stunning spectators at the Globe Lakeside viewing stand overlooking the four-hectare lake in this city’s sprawling Nuvali district.

Colorful light illustrations depicting life-size animated characters emerged in digital images projected from the water screen, measuring 100 meters wide and 15 meters high, right on the lake.

Cathy Bengzon, Ayala Land Corporate Brand and Estate Group Marketing head, said one of the goals of Ayala Land is to always find ways to give back and spread cheer to the community through their signature light and sound show, art fairs, wellness and other community events across the estate developments.

“We continuously think about how we can create new and memorable experiences for the whole family, especially this holiday season,” Bengzon said.

Organizers of the event said Ayala Land, the real estate developer of the Nuvali district, partnered with renowned international art collective teamLab for the country’s pioneering interactive water show.

The 30-minute magical water show will officially open to the public for free starting Nov. 22 (Friday) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for its Friday to Sunday run year-round spectacle in the Globe Lakeside area.

The teamLab had staged various exhibitions around the world over the past years in selected venues in New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Silicon Valley, Beijing, Taipei, and Melbourne among others.

During its premiere night, the Nuvali teamLab’s show featured the “Born from the Water, a Loving and Beautiful World,” “Water Scrolls: Genpei Yashima Battle” and “Fishing Party” with dazzling interactive digital installations, light and waves projections, and the Japanese inspired-spatial calligraphy, animations, and sounds.

The show’s finale part wowed the crowd when the traditional, artistically designed “parol” (star lanterns) popped up over the lake in sync with the Filipino Christmas carols “Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit” and “Maligayang Pasko”. (PNA)
