The country’s total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 1,202,257, after 7,122 more recoveries were reported on Tuesday.

In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 93.9 percent of the total case Covid-19 count which has reached 1,280,773 since the start of the pandemic last year.

The agency also reported 4,777 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 56,452.

About 93.2 percent of these active cases are mild, 2.5 percent are asymptomatic, 1.3 percent are critical, 1.7 percent are severe, and 1.19 percent are moderate.

Some 95 new deaths were also reported, pushing the country’s total number of Covid-19 fatalities to 22,064.

According to DOH data on June 6, about 14.3 percent of 29,125 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

“Some eight duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, six were recovered cases. Moreover, 40 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said.

All laboratories were operational on June 6 while ten laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

The DOH noted the ten non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 2.7 percent of samples tested, and 2.9 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.
