The world-renowned adobo and the tangy taste of sinigang have always been the top comfort foods among Pinoys and nothing beats isaw and adidas (chicken intestines and feet) as merienda after a whole hour of siesta.

Filipino-owned street food kiosk, “Boy Isaw” continues to share the comforting Filipino street food with its patrons abroad.

Robin John Calalo of Woodside, Queens New York City is the real “boy isaw,” when he decided to take a different route and share the other side of the Filipino cuisine.

In his feature with GMA News, Calalo shared that his food kiosk earns up to PHP 200k a week, making him earn up to PHP 800k a month.

Calalo started his business when he longed for Filipino street foods and decided to share them with others.

He invested his one-of-a-kind business in the Big Apple with PHP 2500 last 2019, and just like any other Pinoy’s abroad, his first customers were his family and friends.

Aside from his food stall, Boy Isaw also takes to the internet through online selling for customers to enjoy their ready-to-grill food products.

In its Instagram posts, Pinoys and foreign customers enjoy their favorite barbecues that cost USD 3.50 (PHP 175), beverages at USD 5 (PHP 250), and rice at USD 2 (PHP100).

Calalo somehow cures the homesickness of other OFWs in New York especially this pandemic through his menu including isaw, adidas, betamax (grilled chicken blood), hotdog, pork ears, and even frozen lumpia.
