The world’s tallest flower, Amorphophallus aka the Corpse Flower, was discovered in Tuno, Tibiao, Antique.

The flower was located in Darling Mountain Resort and was seen by Facebook user Sheila Setias.

She shared in a post by the Discover Antique group on the same platform, “I was amazed when I saw this…the most amazing is that from that big flower it will grow into a tree and the roots produce yam in other countries”.

However, she said that people in the province only feed the flower to their hogs.

The Corpse Flower is a gigantic plant that hides the flower under its thick leaf. It can grow up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and the leaves can grow as big as 13 feet (4 meters) wide.

The tallest bloom of the flower is recorded to be 3.1 m (10 ft 2.25 in) tall in 2010 known as the Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) which was grown by Louis Ricciardiello found in the USA.

It was also known for its fish-like odor which most people did not like.
