The number of Tarlaqueños who survived the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) continued to rise with nine new recoveries confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday.

This brought the total number of recoveries in the province to 320 and the total active cases to 201.

Based on the report of the Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force, the nine new recoveries came from this city with four, Concepcion and Capas with two each, and one in Bamban.

On the other hand, new cases of Covid-19 in the province declined to three, with two from the city and one in La Paz.

The total number of confirmed cases reaches 545, while the total number of deaths remains at 24.

The task force attributed the decline in the Covid-19 cases to the strict implementation of the health and safety measures by local government units.

City Mayor Cristy Angeles ordered the disinfection of the barangays especially those areas with Covid-19 cases.

Angeles also reminded her constituents to strictly observe the health and safety protocols, such as the wearing of face masks and face shields outside their homes. (PNA)
