At least 80.75 percent of those who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Central Luzon has recovered.

Based on the latest regional case bulletin issued by the Department of Health Central Luzon Health Development (DOH-CLHD), the total number of recoveries in the region is 17,800 out of the total positive cases of 22,043.

The DOH-CLHD also reported that there are 3,540 active cases or only 16.06 percent of the total number of patients.

Out of the total active cases, 2,205 are mild, 1,244 are asymptomatic, 74 are severe and 17 are in critical condition.

On the other hand, the DOH-CLHD said the total number of those who succumbed from Covid-19 in the region is 3.19 percent or 709.

As of Nov. 25, there are 181 new cases reported in the region.

Pampanga has the highest number of new cases with 80, followed by Bulacan with 45, Tarlac with 21, Angeles City with 13, Nueva Ecija with 11, Zambales with six, Bataan with three, Olongapo City with two, and Aurora with zero.

The DOH-CLHD is reminding the public to strictly observe minimum health standards as the threat of Covid-19 is still present.

DOH-Region 3 (Central Luzon) director Cesar Cassion earlier said embracing the new normal as part of daily living saves people from contracting Covid-19 and other diseases now that provinces in the region are placed under the less rigid modified general community quarantine status.

He said wearing face masks, washing hands frequently, observing physical distancing, staying at home, and foregoing non-essential travels are still important to keep everyone safe and protected from coronavirus. (PNA)
