Fourteen villages will benefit from the Philippine Red Cross’ 99th blood facility at its Novaliches, Quezon City chapter.

The new facility will cater to the needs of residents in North Fairview, Bagbag, Gulod, Sta. Lucia, Nova Proper, Capri, Fairview Proper, Lagro, Nagkaisang Nayon, San Agustin, Kaligayahan, Sta. Monica, San Bartolome, and Pasong Putik.

It can accommodate six donors at a time and about 30 to 50 daily.

The PRC is the provider for 50 percent of the country’s blood supply.

PRC QC chair Ernesto Isla, other PRC officials, and city and village executives graced the launch on January 27.

“Hindi tumitigil ang pangangailangan ng dugo (The need for blood does not stop),” the PRC said in a statement Tuesday.

The Red Cross has 104 chapters. Hotline 143 will answer all blood-related concerns. (PNA)
