Employees of the Ilocos Norte government will receive their performance-based bonus (PBB) next week, Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc said Tuesday.

Manotoc made the announcement as he expressed gratitude to all provincial government employees, particularly those under the Provincial Resiliency Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Provincial Engineering Office, who had been working overtime despite the recent natural calamities that struck the province.

PBB is an incentive mechanism to reward local government employees for good governance and meritorious performance of a local government unit (LGU). It was introduced in 2012 to reward and encourage exemplary performance among public servants.

According to Manotoc, the PBB will be distributed on a “pro-rated basis to further inspire employees for a job well done.”

“This covers almost a thousand permanent and casual employees covering January to December 2021,” said provincial human resource and management officer Fe Siazon on Tuesday.

Under the guidelines, eligible agencies, departments, and LGUs are judged based on four dimensions of accountability: Performance Results, Process Results, Financial Results, and Citizen/Client Satisfaction Results.

To qualify for the grant, the LGU must attain a total score of at least 70 points, and achieve at least a rating of four for at least three criteria based on the PBB scoring system.

Aside from the PBB, Siazon added that eligible employees will also be receiving their annual mid-year bonus which is expected to be released not earlier than Nov. 15, 2022. (PNA)
