The 16th Davao Mega Travel Sale opened Friday at Ayala Malls Abreeza, showcasing 40 exhibitors and with new packages to Central Asian destinations and Antarctic Peninsula.

This year’s fair highlights discounted travel packages to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

In her speech, Department of Tourism-Davao Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan said the event is more than selling tickets. It is about opening doors to discovery and learning, from local tourism circuits to international adventures.

“We say that diversity is our beauty here in the Davao Region and today, that beauty expands to the rest of the world,” she said.

Tan emphasized that the event not only boosts the tourism industry but also helps position Davao and the Philippines at the heart of every traveler’s dream.

“To our travelers, the expert advice is ready, the seat sales are live and the world is waiting. Gear up, say yes, and let your next great adventure begin,” she said.

The expo of hotels, resorts, airlines and travel agencies will run until March 1.

Davao City 3rd District Councilor Myrna Ortiz, chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, commended the Davao Travel Agencies Association for continuously creating opportunities that strengthen the city’s tourism industry.

“Initiatives like this not only connect our people to exciting destinations around the world but also energize our local economy, generate employment and position Davao as a dynamic hub for travel and business,” she said. (PNA)
