American rapper Marshall Mathers, popularly known as Eminem, signed Filipino-American singer-rapper Ezekiel Miller, also known as Ez Mil, to his own record label, “Shady Records.”

On Thursday, Ez Mil announced the news on his Instagram, shocking the hip-hop community in the Philippines and America and gaining comments from personalities such as Filipino rapper Gloc-9.

Aside from Shady Records, Ez Mil got the chance to sign to American rapper and producer Dr. Dre’s record labels, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records, which house some of the biggest names in the music industry like Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga.

In a tweet, Eminem shared Ez Mil’s single “Up Down,” saying that it’s the reason why they signed Ez Mil to their record labels.

According to Shady Records, Eminem disclosed that they have been selective in signing artists to the label, but Ez Mil was an exception.

“It’s even rare that Dre and I sign something together, but I heard Ez’s music and was like, this is really special,’ so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit, and we wanted to work with him right on the spot,” Eminem expressed.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dre added that he’s only interested in working on music that really stands out and sounds different from anything else. “Em played me, Ez and I had that feeling—that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special.”

The deluxe edition of Ez Mil’s album DU4LI7Y is set to release on August 11, including a new single, “Realest,” featuring Eminem.
