The Daraga Municipal Agriculture Services Office (MASO) has distributed livelihood assistance to farmers, persons with disabilities (PWD) and other members of marginalized sectors as part of the local government unit’s intervention programs to uplift the lives of its constituents.

In an interview on Wednesday, Honeybet Sulivan, Daraga information officer, said the MASO distributed on separate activities last week at least 750 free-range chickens to 150 recipients that also included solo parents and parents of street children.

“Each recipient received four female and one male chicken. As part of the program, they are required to reproduce the said chicken and more likely on egg production that will give additional income,” Sulivan said.

Aside from the free-range chicken, she said MASO also provided 3,000 kilos of feeds or 20 kilos per beneficiary.

“To ensure the success of the program, personnel of MASO continues to monitor the said beneficiaries to support and give them guidance in the said livelihood project. Recipients from Barangay Maroroy, Sagpon, Tagas, Tabontabon, Malobago and Mayon were recently visited by the team,” she said.

According to Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo, Sulivan said next to be distributed will be piglets. (PNA)
