Action-drama royalty Gerald Anderson makes his much-anticipated teleserye comeback after three years in ABS-CBN’s new crime thriller “Sins of the Father,” premiering June 23 (Monday) at 9:30 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and TFC.

In this intense and socially relevant series, Gerald plays a man caught in the dark world of scamming—a timely issue that many Filipinos face today.

The actor, who is marking his 19th year in show business, said the series aligns with his personal advocacy of choosing projects that promote social awareness, spark conversation, and empower viewers.

“Lagi kong nirerequest sa ABS na pag may proyekto ako ay sana may social awareness at sana may mapupulot na aral yung mga tao pag pinanood nila because maraming distractions these days. We have scamming, we have social media, everything,” Gerald shared.

Adding more excitement to the series is the return of actress Jessy Mendiola, who makes her teleserye comeback after six years. “Sins of the Father” also marks her onscreen reunion with Gerald, more than a decade after they starred in the 2011 drama “Budoy.”

“Natutuwa ako kasi no’ng last ko siyang nakatrabaho, ang babata pa namin. Ang dami nang nangyari sa mga buhay namin, and I’m just really happy to be working with Gerald again,” Jessy said.

“Sins of the Father” is a gripping story about a bank manager named Samuel Trinidad, played by Gerald, whose life will turn upside down after the untimely death of his estranged father, who was involved in a scam.

Esteemed director FM Reyes, who is taking the helm of the series with Bjoy Balagtas, is in full support of Gerald’s goal to make a socially relevant and timely teleserye.

“Hindi naman kaila na that’s what’s been happening sa hirap ng buhay, maraming manloloko, and I think malaking ginagampanan no’n yung request ni Gerald na gagawa po ako ng project na may social relevance. His concern for the society is not just for showbizness. During moments of disasters you can see him saving people. It comes out naturally,” shared Direk FM.

Direk Bjoy, meanwhile, talked about the fresh and intriguing premise of the Kapamilya teleserye.

“It’s somehow a person’s journey to correct the sins of the past, the sins of the father, and how he can change his today and also the future of his family,” explained Direk Bjoy.

Joining Gerald and Jessy in the star-studded series are Shaina Magdayao, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, JC De Vera, RK Bagatsing, Lotlot de Leon, John Arcilla, Joko Diaz, and Tirso Cruz III.

Soliman Cruz, Malou Crisologo, Nico Antonio, Jerald Napoles, Alex Medina, JV Kapunan, LA Santos, Jeremiah Lisbo, Elyson De Dios, Clave Sun, and Cailey Magno are also part of the cast.

“Sins Of The Father” is produced by JRB Creative Production under its business unit head, Julie Anne R. Benitez. Cenon Palomares and Dindo Perez are also part of the production team as head writer and creative head, respectively.

It will premiere on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and TFC on June 23 (Monday) at 9:30 PM. For more information, follow JRB Creative Production on Facebook, X (Twitter) (@JRBcreativeprod), Instagram (@JRBcreativeproduction), and TikTok (@jrbcreativeprod).
