In an act of solidarity among medical institutions and professionals amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City donated medical and hospital supplies to the Philippine General Hospital.

Spearheaded by St. Luke’s president and ceo, Dr. Arturo dela Peña, PGH received 48 Hillrom beds, 30 infusion pumps, and a pledge of 10M pesos in assistance for more supplies last March 30.

According to other reports, the Philippine Navy was responsible for the transportation of beds to PGH.

Online citizens have come to praise the act for its show of unity amidst the growing crisis. One facebook user expressed that seeing medical institutions supporting one another is inspiring for the many frontliners who risk their lives each day to fight the virus.

PGH currently serves as the country’s COVID-19 referral center for patients positive with the coronavirus.
