Bacolod’s own JT’s Manukan Grille by actor Joel Torre is set to open a new international branch, pushing Filipino food forward even further as it brings its signature chicken inasal to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The news broke earlier in January when the restaurant’s Singapore branch posted a photo of Torre in Dubai to personally check out the new home of their chicken inasal.

“Just taking time to check out our new international location, JT’s fam! We’re happy to share we are coming soon to Dubai. Inshallah,” the caption read.

On January 12, Torre paid a visit to fellow Ilonggo and Chef JP Anglo at his restaurant, Kooya Filipino Eatery, to make preparations for the highly anticipated opening.

“Happy to share that we will be grilling soon and opening our 2nd international store in the Middle East! Bringing the flavors of Bacolod to the world one store and place at a time. Kaon ta (let’s eat)!” said the actor.

Founded in 2003, JT’s Manukan Grille was the brainchild of Torre and his wife, Cristy Azcona-Torre, who were passionate to cook and “serve tasty, succulent, and fresh grilled chicken” the Ilonggo way.

Offering Pinoy favorites such as chicken inasal, liempo, bangus, and dinuguan, the restaurant has expanded to over 40 branches across the country.

They launched their first international branch at Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road in Singapore in June 2024.

Once established, the new branch will be a great addition to the rich Filipino dining experience in the vibrant streets of Dubai, known for its dynamic culinary fusion.
