A village in Tolosa, Leyte was placed under lockdown on Wednesday after a resident tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Through Executive Order No. 31, movement restrictions are strictly imposed in Malbog village to facilitate the tracing of all possible contact of the confirmed patient.

Identified first-level contacts will undergo swab testing, while the second and third level contacts, including their respective households, will be subjected to home quarantine and monitoring of health authorities.

“All households not identified as close contacts but are residents of the community are also under home isolation and must remain within their residences except when availing essential goods and services,” Mayor Maria Ofelia Alcantara said in a statement.

The local government assured that all affected families will receive food assistance.

“This directive will be enforced until lifted depending on the situation. All close contacts will remain in isolation unless cleared by a negative swab test result,” Alcantara said.

To date, the town has confirmed a total of 37 Covid-19 cases, based on its monitoring report. (PNA)
