Kapamilya actor-singer Markus Paterson reflects on the bittersweet emotions of missed connections and longs for something exceptional in his latest acoustic pop single “Chaos” released under Tarsier Records.

“I understood the missed chances. I understood the missed opportunities, lahat ng pagkukulang ko. Not in a sad way, but more of acceptance, like, ‘I could’ve done this, but now I’m here,” the “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” star said in his recent Kapamilya Chat interview. “All the chaotic moments in my life had led me to this exact moment right here and I wouldn’t change that.”

The inspiration for “Chaos” came from one of his jamming sessions with fellow Tarsier Records artist Jon Guelas. He then later on wrote the track with Moophs, who also took charge of its production.

Making music has become a therapy for Markus, a diary of some sort where he can express his feelings freely and turn it into harmonies and melodies.

“Music to me is like therapy. Every time I come home from a long day from work or just a long day in general, I see my guitar. When I walk into my bedroom, I see the guitar. It always depends on how the day went. Kung masaya, eh ‘di masaya ‘yung kanta na isusulat ko. Kung hindi at medyo badtrip ako nu’ng araw na ‘yun, medyo emotional ‘yung kanta,” he said.

Markus started his journey as a recording artist when he released his debut single “WIWU” in 2017, which he followed up with several singles such as “EASE” and “Tell Me.”

In 2020, he dropped his first EP “B-Side” which has garnered over five million streams on Spotify, with his highest streamed track, “For J” currently with 1.7M+ streams, followed by “Poem” with 1.4+ streams.

Aside from his music, Markus has also shown his abilities in acting with critically acclaimed films “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-Fi,” “Dead Kids,” and “Hello Stranger: The Movie” under his belt. He also starred in various hit series like “Viral Scandal” and “Teen Clash.”
