The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday said it is all set to enforce tight security around the five venues of this year’s Bar examinations which would start on Wednesday.

In a statement, NCRPO chief, Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, said some 500 police personnel would be deployed in the vicinities of De La Salle University-Manila, San Beda University, Manila Adventist College, University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City Campus, and the Ateneo de Manila University.

The Metro Manila top cop added that security personnel will be deployed to provide area security, augmentation for civil disturbance management, traffic direction and control, and emergency preparedness and response when the need arises to ensure safety, security, peace, and order during the conduct of the examinations.

“Through the efforts and dedication of our personnel, we can envision the success of this. To the examinees, we wish you all success. Guaranteed that our police officers are seen, felt, appreciated and performing tasks extraordinarily in order for us to ensure your safety and protection while you take the exam,” Estomo added.

Further, deployed personnel shall strictly implement the mandated minimum public health standard protocols pursuant to Executive Order 7, which makes the wearing of face masks in indoor spaces voluntary.

The public is also advised of the following road closures following the scheduled examination:

  • Estrada Street (Taft southbound) to Quirino Street (Taft) will be closed from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Estrada Street (Taft northbound) to Quirino Street (Taft) will be closed from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Fidel corner Noli Street (the back portion of DLSU) will be closed from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Concepcion Aguila Street and Mendiola Street (from C.M. Recto intersection to Concepcion Aguila Street)
  • Corner of San Juan Street and Donada Street until Leveriza Street will be closed from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Nearly 10,000 aspiring lawyers are set to take this year’s Bar exams to be held on Nov. 9, 13, 16, and 20. (PNA)
