The Pasig City government on Friday has officially rolled out the use of the Quick Response (QR) pass and the newly established health monitoring system to boost its efforts against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Vico Sotto urged the residents to sign-up with its new QR code-based contact tracing method called “Pasig Pass” as part of the city’s new health monitoring system.

Sotto said the Pasig Health Monitor will help the City Health Department to improve health services and speed up its pandemic responses.

The system allows offices to have real-time communication in handling Covid-19 responses including tracing, testing, isolation, and treatment.

The Pasig Health Monitor is a type of health information management and monitoring system which is designed with a central database of citizens’ medical records, integrated inventory of the city’s health resources, and the Pasigpass — a QR code-based contact tracing solution.

The city government eyed the Pasig Pass as contactless, secured, and streamlined contact tracing that prevents the practice of manual collection of details through contact tracing forms.

Sotto said residents could get their own QR code via pasigpass.pasigcity.gov.ph.

Meanwhile, Sotto announced the city’s newly built 60-seat contact tracing and operations center is now functional and will start navigating the city’s contact tracing system.

The city government assured that the Pasig Health Monitor will also be compliant with the country’s Data Privacy Act in terms of storing various medical records of each patient. (PNA)
