The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 150 new recovered patients, increasing the country’s tally of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) recoveries to 293,152.

In its latest case bulletin, the DOH also reported 3,574 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 43,332.

Of the active cases, about 83.9 percent are mild, 10.8 percent are asymptomatic, 1.7 percent are severe, and 3.6 percent are in critical condition.

The majority of the newly announced cases are from the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,344 and the provinces of Cavite with 215, Laguna with 212, Rizal with 211, and Iloilo with 164 infections.

The DOH also reported 11 deaths, which brings the total to 6,332.

Of the 11 deaths, 8 or 73 percent occurred in October, two (18 percent) in August, and one (9 percent) in July.

“About 89 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and 71 of these were recovered cases. Moreover, two cases which were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH said.

It noted that the country’s case fatality rate is at 1.85 percent; positivity rate, 10.03 percent; case doubling time, 12.02 days; and mortality doubling time, 17.03 days.

As of Sunday, the 110 licensed reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction laboratories and 35 licensed GeneXpert laboratories have done a total of 3,914,643 tests nationwide.

DOH said it has 20,600 total bed capacity dedicated to Covid-19 patients.

Occupied are about 47 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds; 44 percent of 13,300 isolation beds; 44 percent of 5,400 ward beds; and about 22 percent of 2,000 ventilators are in use. (PNA)
