Soccsksargen Logs 26 Recoveries, 16 New Coronavirus Cases

Twenty-six more patients in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for DOH-12, however, said that 16 new cases were also logged in four areas of the region with North Cotabato and General Santos City having six each; Cotabato City, three; and South Cotabato, one.

The latest Department of Health (DOH) data in the region as of Sunday night shows that of the new recoveries, 11 were from General Santos City; six each from South Cotabato and Cotabato City; two from North Cotabato; and one from Sarangani.

“Health workers in the region remain focused on the recoveries of the patients. They are not letting their guards down against Covid-19,” he said.

Since March this year, cumulative confirmed cases in the region is logged at 1,344 with 818 recoveries for a 61 percent recovery rate.

There are presently 493 active cases with South Cotabato having 181; followed by General Santos City with 153; Cotabato City, 78; North Cotabato, 55; Sultan Kudarat, 15; and Sarangani, 11. Death toll remains at 32. (PNA)
