The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported 196 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered cases from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to 386,792.

As of 4 p.m., the DOH logged 1,118 new cases and 12 new deaths. These figures bring the total number of active cases to 26,745 and the death toll to 8,185.

Of the active cases, about 83.7 percent are mild, 7.9 percent are asymptomatic, 2.8 percent are severe, 0.25 percent are moderate and 5.3 percent are in critical condition.

Caloocan City topped the list of areas with the most number of new Covid-19 cases at 89, followed by Davao City with 52, Laguna with 52, Quezon with 47, and Quezon City with 46.

A DOH data on Nov. 23 showed that 858 or 5.3 percent of 16,225 who tested for Covid-19 turned out positive for the disease.

The DOH also reported that it has 21,300-bed capacity dedicated for Covid-19 patients. Available are about 57 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 61 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 70 percent of 5,900 ward beds.

It added that 80 percent of 2,000 ventilators are also available for patients’ use. (PNA)
